Simply plug one end of your ethernet cable into your PC and the other end into the ethernet socket on the Zyxel router. Your
browser should automatically detect the correct settings. If not then you should do the following:
Open up Internet Explorer and go to Tools and then Internet Options. Next, click on the connections tab and then LAN settings. On this screen you must ensure that “Automatically detect settings” is ticked.
MAC OS 9
1. Click the APPLE icon on the left corner of the screen.
2. Under CONTROL PANELS choose the TCP/IP option.
3. In the TCP/IP window, ensure that the Connect via drop-down shows Ethernet. This will ensure that the
computer uses the Ethernet connection to connect to the router.
4. Still in the TCP/IP window, ensure that the Confi gure drop-down shows via DHCP. This will ensure that the router
assigns the Computer an IP address from it’s own pool.
MAC OS X
1. Click the APPLE icon on the left corner of the screen.
2. Choose the System Preferences option.
3. Under System Preferences, choose the Network option.
4. Under the Network option, select the Configure button from the bottom of the window.
5. In the Configuration screen, change the SHOW drop-down option to Built in Ethernet. This will ensure that the Internet Connection is using the Ethernet port.
6. In the TCP/IP tab, ensure that the Configure drop-down shows Using DHCP. This will ensure that the router assigns the Computer an IP address from it’s own pool.
