This is the newest part of The Deep and houses creatures from the deepest parts of the oceans. These creatures have had to adapt to their harsh environment to be able to survive. More is known about the surface of the moon than the deepest parts of the oceans.
There are some very strange looking creatures in this exhibition, watch out for:
The Wolf Eels – these fierce looking animals are really not as scary as what you might think. They are camouflaged perfectly to look like rocks and stones - see if you can spot them!
Nautilus – these ancient animals have a similar shape to our garden snails but they have a much more complex make up. They have a white shell with red/pink stripes and tentacles poking out from the opening which sense what is going on around them.
Giant Japanese spider crabs – the giants can get so big they can wrap their legs around a car when they are fully grown! As their name suggests, their bodies are similar to spiders with fairly small bodies but very very long legs!
