Can be used to screen calls and help you tailor your response to your customers.

NB: Not all networks support Caller Line Identity (CLI). If you would like your telephone number to be withheld each time you make a call without having to dial 141, please contact the business team on 0800 915 0332. There is no charge for withholding your number permanently.

Notifies you that someone else is calling, even when you’re already on the phone.

Lift receiver and wait for the dial tone:
To set up: *43#
To cancel: #43#

To move between calls:

  • Press R to put your first caller on hold
  • Wait for the dial tone, then press 2
  • You will be connected to your second caller
  • To shuttle between the two calls press R and then 2
  • To end one call and return to the other press R and then 1. Then hang up the first call
  • End the call you are on by replacing the handset. Your phone will ring again and you will be connected to the second caller when you pick up
  • Tell the second caller to ring you back
  • To stop the beep, press R
  • Wait for the dial tone, then press 0
  • You will go back to your original caller and your second caller will be advised to ring back later
  • If you just ignore the beep it will stop after 30 seconds anyway

Allows you to have two different phone numbers on a single line. When calls are received on your existing number, the phone rings in the usual way, when calls are received on the additional number, the phone gives a different ring tone so you'll know which number was dialled. Particularly useful if you occasionally work from home, and want to differentiate between personal and business calls. Your Call is charged on a rental basis with quarterly payments made in advance.

Call return is free. Dial 1471 to find out the time and date of the last call made to your number. If available, you will also be told the number of the person who called and be able to dial 3 to return the call.

Forget the frustration of engaged tones! Ring back service will keep trying the number for you so you don't have to.

  • If the number you're calling is engaged, Ring Back keeps trying the number until it becomes free
  • When the number is free your phone will ring and you will be connected as soon as you pick it up
  • You can initiate a Ring Back to a maximum of 5 engaged lines at once. Five people can also activate Ring Back to your line
  • A small fee is charged each time a successful connection is made using Ring Back

Service Availability

  • Ring Back is not available on Centrex, switchboard, non analogue (e.g. ISDN) lines or payphones
  • In order to cancel a Ring Back request you will need a touch-tone phone, although a touch-tone phone is not necessary to set up a request
  • You can initiate a Ring Back to a maximum of 5 engaged lines at once. Five people can also activate Ring Back to your line
  • This service will not work in conjunction with Call Waiting

Will allow you to talk to a group of people all at once – this free service allows you to hold a conversation with people on two other numbers, no matter where they are.

  • The third party can be brought into the conversation at any time

How to set up a conference call

Call the first number, then set up the second by completing the following:

  • Press R to hold the first call
  • Wait for the dial tone, then call the second person
  • When the second person answers, press R
  • All three parties are now connected to the call

Restrict calls to national, international or premium rate numbers. You can also bar incoming calls so the line is always available for outgoing calls.

Take control over who can make calls and who can call you

Permanent outgoing call barring:

  • Choose any type(s) of call – Kingston local calls*, national, international, operator services or Premium Rate numbers
  • Making a change to types of calls that are barred would incur an additional charge
  • Calls to emergency services and 151 remain available
  • Incoming calls are not affected

Pre-arranged call barring – customer controlled

  • You decide which types of calls you wish to restrict on application
  • You switch the barring on and off using a PIN
  • Making a change to the original categories would incur an additional charge

Selective call barring – customer controlled

  • You choose which categories of call you wish to restrict
  • You change those categories using a set of commands on your touch-tone phone
  • A PIN allows you to disable and enable all barring

*Local calls are defined as all calls between Kingston Communications' customers in Hull and East Yorkshire
