International Freephone Numbers
Let customers call for free… from anywhere*
If customer care is your first priority and your customer base is international, KC works with partners across the country to deliver two options:
International Freephone (IFN)
International Freephone numbers are local Freephone numbers. These numbers look like local numbers: in the USA, the numbers will be prefixed with 1-800 or 1-888, in France the numbers will be prefixed 08 00.
What you need to know about IFN:
- We can try and source specific numbers on your behalf, though this will depend on availability in the country of origin
- IFN calls can be delivered to UK geographic numbers only – unfortunately, no mobiles
These numbers look the same, wherever you customer travels: +800 XXXX XXXX, where the plus sign is the international access code of the country the caller is dialling from.
UIFN facts to be aware of:
- UIFN can also be dialled from the UK
- The service only works in countries you select, as long as they are supported by our partners international agreements –please use the contact us details on the left if you’re interested in availability
- The number 800 after the IDD prefix is a non-geographic country code assigned by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) to be used exclusively for UIFN
- It may be possible to obtain a specific Universal Freephone number (so you can embed a UK Freephone number within it) – though this will depend on number availability at the country of origin
- UIFN calls can be delivered to UK geographic numbers only – unfortunately, no mobiles
