Call Charges

When can I make daytime, evening and weekend calls?
Daytime calls can be made Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm.
Evening calls can be made Monday to Friday between 6pm and 8am, including Sunday midnight to Monday 8am.
Weekend calls can be made from Friday midnight to Sunday midnight.

Why do you need my Direct Debit details even when I join TalkMore 1?
TalkMore requires all bills to be paid by Direct Debit.

What about 0845 and 0870 calls?
You can still call 0845 and 0870 numbers, but they are not included in our call plans. Our rates apply to UK landline calls, typically starting with 01 and 02, mobiles, and international numbers.

What is the difference between local and national calls?
None. Although some phone providers charge differently for local and national calls, we don’t. So whether you’re phoning around the corner or 400 miles away you’ll be charged the same. And don’t forget that if you get all your friends and family to join TalkMore you’ll get to talk to them for FREE.

Can anyone sign up to TalkMore?

Anyone with a BT line can sign up for the service. However we are not allowed to provide the TalkMore service to BT customers who use their Low User Scheme. We also do not recommend that the TalkMore service be activated on lines that are used for burglar or fire alarms.

What do I need to do to connect to the TalkMore service?
Nothing! Once you’ve called us we’ll do the rest! No dialling special codes before making calls and you don’t need a dialler box.

Is there a minimum period of commitment for the service?
Absolutely not, we don’t tie you into a minimum contract period like other phone providers – so why not try us, and you could start saving on your phone bill in as little as 10 working days.

Are there any connection or disconnection fees?
No, we won’t charge you any connection or disconnection fees.

If I change my mind can I cancel?
Please see 3.4 and 3.5 in our Standard Terms & Conditions.

Do you offer friends and family discount scheme?
No. But if your friends and family switch to TalkMore, you can call each other for FREE. So why not phone your friends and family and tell them about TalkMore.

Billing

Do I have to pay TalkMore for my line rental?
No. TalkMore will not bill you for your line rental; BT will continue to bill you for this.

What will appear on my TalkMore bill?
Your itemised bill is sent every month and will detail all the calls you've made on your TalkMore calling plan, including any FREE calls.

What will appear on my BT bill?
BT will continue to bill you for your line rental, and for any Select Services such as Call Minder or Call Display. BT will also remain responsible for maintaining your line.

How are calls billed?
TalkMore calls are billed by the second, not rounded up to the nearest minute. There is a minimum call charge of 4p (inc VAT) for calls made outside of your call plan.

Are all BT Select Services compatible with TalkMore?
Yes. You can still use all BT Select Services with TalkMore, except Call Barring.

What happens if I move house?
Your existing TalkMore service will need to be transferred when you move, whether you are keeping the same number or not. Please contact us on 0800 915 5222 to let us know so that we can arrange for your TalkMore service to be transferred.

What happens if I change my phone number but don't move house?
Your existing TalkMore service will need to be transferred. Please contact us on 0800 915 5222 to let us know so that we can arrange for your service to be transferred.

What happens to my Internet calls?
TalkMore will not affect your Internet service, and your provider will continue to bill you in the same way. So if you use ‘pay as you go’, your call charges will continue to appear on your BT phone bill, or if you use a flat rate service your provider will continue to bill you.

Can I use TalkMore with my broadband provider?
Yes. TalkMore has no impact on your broadband service, whoever provides it! Your provider will continue to bill you for their service and TalkMore will only bill you for telephone calls.

Can I still keep my phone number?
Yes. Of course!

How long does it take to set me up to the TalkMore service?
About 10-12 working days.

When changing, do I need to contact BT?
No, we’ll do everything for you.

I'm a cable customer - can I use the service?
Unfortunately we are only able to provide the TalkMore service to customers with BT lines.

Can I have Home Highway or ISDN line on my TalkMore service?
Yes. Just provide us with ALL the numbers that BT has given you. BT can confirm these details for you.
